From New Jersey: Thoughts and Prayers to the People of Iran

The sun beamed down on my 13-year-old face — the only part of my body meant to be exposed, as I sat on the edge of a fountain on a hot, summer day in one of the most beautiful parks I had ever visited. I was a world away from the local New Jersey park where I grew up playing wearing shorts and T-shirts — I was in my ancestral home, Iran, during summer break.
