Rutgers Miller Center hosts Emergent Threats Roundtable
- 2023-04-28
New Brunswick, New Jersey – The Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience is hosting a virtual roundtable discussion on May 1, 2023 at 1pm EST about an alarming increase in physical attacks on U.S. electric utilities and disinformation about the power grid. Experts in law enforcement, government, and private industry will discuss the grid, its security, recent attacks on infrastructure, best practices for law enforcement, and public-private information sharing.
“Attacks on U.S. power grid installations are becoming more frequent. And little is known of the perpetrators, or their motivations – whether it’s a desire to cause chaos, destruction, and foment fear; to disrupt the functioning of society and the economy; or to advance a political or ideological agenda in an attempt to weaken the government,” said Paul Goldenberg, Chief Advisor for Police Policy at the Miller Center.
