In September 2018, Rutgers University was awarded a grant from the Defense Intelligence Agency to enhance the existing Rutgers Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence with a focus on critical technology studies (e.g. artificial intelligence, data visualization, computational statistics/algorithm design). Students will develop advanced technology skills in an effort to advance international dialogue, bolster national security and contribute to U.S. economic prosperity—and an understanding of the complexities of using such technologies in a constitutionally-appropriate manner.
Educational opportunities currently in development:
- Technology specialization within the existing Critical Intelligence Studies minor
- Summer certificate programs/workshops
- Research Experience for Undergraduates
- Conferences, information sessions, and other events
- Internship/Research/Professional Development Stipend Program
